DR. KATIE AND HER HUSBAND SCOT STARTED SPRINGFIELD FAMILY VISION TO HELP EVERY MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY.

We practice full scope medical optometry, treating a variety of diseases and ocular emergencies. Dr Katie also has a passion for treating dry eye, fitting speciality contact lenses, and uncovering ocular motor dysfunctions and poor visual perceptual skills.

We also have fun making sure you have a stylish pair of glasses that you can see well at all distances. We want to make your vision testing and correction experience tailored to fit you.

DR KATIE

Dr. Katie McElvaine is the optometrist of Springfield Family Vision in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Katie is a seventh-generation Springfieldian and attended Glendale High School. She then went on to the University of Missouri where she graduated with a degree in biological sciences. Dr. Katie earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri Saint Louis College of Optometry.
Dr. Katie has been very involved in the Missouri Optometric Association at the local and state level. For 3 years, she served as the local trustee on the Missouri Optometric Association board. After serving on the board, she served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Greater Ozarks Optometric Society.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, Ocular Nutrition Society, College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists. She is active in her community and belongs to numerous organizations including the Junior League of Springfield, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and is a Girl Scout of the Missouri Heartland Troop Leader. Besides Dr. Katie’s passion for seeing patients, she loves spending time outdoors, traveling, playing with her daughters, and hanging out with her family and friends.

Scot

Scot McElvaine is Springfield Family Vision’s manager and lead optician. He was born in Southern California, but has spent most of his life in Springfield and he attended Glendale High School. Scot holds Bachelor of Science in business and a Master of Business Administration degrees from Missouri State University. Scot serves on the advisory board for Adult Tender Care.

When he isn’t helping you select your new favorite pair of glasses, Scot prefers to be on a boat, playing video games, or spending time with his lovely wife, Dr. Katie, his two beautiful daughters, and his very handsome dog.

Ryan

Ryan Kerr is Springfield Family Vision’s optician, pre-tester, and friendly guy. He is happily married to his high school crush Cara, and a proud dog dad of Baby and Pabst. He is a Springfield native, graduating from Kickapoo and Drury University. Ryan has been in the optical industry since 1998 with a wide range of experience. He enjoys skateboarding (yes, even as an old dude), riding his motorcycle (probably too fast), playing music (definitely too loud), and Cara’s creative cooking (can’t get enough).

Heather

Heather Dunn is the friendly face at Springfield Family Vision’s front desk. She was born and raised in Springfield and graduated from Willard High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Chris and they now share three daughters and a son. Her hobbies include spending time with her wonderful family, watching her middle daughter play softball, and reading ALL the romance and science fiction novels.
